October 20

With week 7 complete we have really begun to notice growth in each of our students as they work towards individual goals. As the year continues we continue to celebrate daily successes:
requesting preferred activities

imitation skills

creative play (our very own fidget spinner!)

more sorting skills (by class)

Physical Education integration

Eating snack together!

This week, we changed up our alphabet song at our morning meeting. By selection of one of our own kiddos, we are watching an ASL version of the song and attempting to practice finger spelling:

This week we changed our transition song to a favourite song from our Music time with our Specialist, Mrs. B. A few of our students have really picked up on the song and many of our Grade 1s and 2s have really been loving to participate along with the actions!

Wednesday morning we had our first Lockdown practice of the school year. An overall success, we will continue to practice this procedure with the rest of Ken Taylor School throughout the school year.

Reminders:
  • Jacket Racket continues until October 24th
  • October 26th: Popcorn Day! Bring a Toonie :)
  • October 27th: Earth Rangers Assembly 9:00 – 10:00
  • October 31st: we will be having a Halloween parade of costumes through the classrooms in the afternoon.

Have a restful weekend and don't be afraid to "put your feet up!"
